Barrage des Trois Gorges : les cultes et le patrimoine au cur des enjeux. Etude sur les vestiges culturels et la religion populaire locale dans le xian de Yunyang (municipalité de Chongqing)
Au cur de la région des Trois Gorges, Yunyang subit les conséquences de la construction du barrage telles la submersion des terres agricoles, de déplacement des populations, la reconstruction des agglomérations urbaines ainsi que la délocalisation du célèbre temple de Zhang Fei. Les vestiges historiques et religieux et les cultes rendus aux divinités locales sont au centre d'enjeux économiques, idéologiques et symboliques. Entre politiques locales de développement et initiatives des habitants, ces repères communautaires fondamentaux font l'objet d'investissements et de réorientations multiples. Au cours de l'épisode traumatique que traverse la région, ils s'avèrent particulièrement cruciaux pour le renforcement de l'identité fragilisée des habitants.

Yunyang, in the heart of the Three Gorges region, is bearing the brunt of the consequences of the dam’s construction, through the flooding of agricultural lands, the resettlement of families, the wholesale rebuilding of urban centres and the relocation of the famous Zhang Fei temple. At the core of vital economic, ideological and symbolic interests are historical and religious relics and the worship of local deities. From local development policies to citizen initiatives, these fundamental markers of community identity are the subject of many different investments and reworkings. They are showing themselves to be particularly crucial for consolidation of the identity of the inhabitants frayed by the trauma that the region is currently undergoing[1].
